If Cooper Cronk thought he’d find some sympathy from former coach Craig Bellamy, he thought wrong. The Storm coach fully expects Cronk to play in Sunday’s grand final, despite his ‘severe’ shoulder injury. “I reckon he will play,” Bellamy said on the Footy Show on Thursday. “At the end of the day if anyone can play, and again we don’t know, Cooper was quite evasive today about what the actual injury is and the grade of that injury. “If anyone can prepare and repair enough to play on the weekend it would be Cooper Cronk.
“I know how much work he’d be putting in. He’s a tough player I’ve seen him play through a lot of injuries. “I’m expecting him to play and we are preparing for him to play.” And Bellamy has sent a big warning to his former star player. “I don’t think we are going to chase him all over the field but if we can get someone close to him we are going to run hard at him, put it that way,” he said.
