Jacks joins Titans on one-year NRL deal

Gold Coast have added to their NRL play-making stocks by confirming the signing of Ryley Jacks from Melbourne on a one-year deal. The Brisbane-born halfback played 25 NRL games for the Storm during his two years at the Storm. He was unable to cement a first-grade spot with the perennial contenders and the 26-year-old will return to Queensland faced with a similar log-jam for spots, despite the departure of five-eighth Kane Elgey to Manly.
Ashley Taylor and AJ Brimson were both strong performers in the halves for the Titans last season, while coach Garth Brennan has also lured utilities Tyrone Roberts and Tyrone Peachey to the club for 2019. After Gold Coast finished 14th in Brennan's maiden NRL coaching campaign, he will welcome the extra competition among the halves to complement his growing number of options in the forwards. "He adds some much needed depth to our halves and I'm looking forward to him joining the club," Brennan said of Jacks. "Ryley is a Queenslander who is coming home and looking for an opportunity in the NRL."He's been part of a fantastic system down in Melbourne and I'm sure he'll bring with him that professionalism and desire to succeed." The arrival of Jacks follows the signing of promising 20-year-old outside back Jesse Arthars.
