Napa replaces Newcastle-bound Klemmer at Bulldogs

David Klemmer's arrival can help catapult Newcastle up the ladder and into the NRL's finals for the first time in five years, according to Knights captain Mitchell Pearce. Klemmer's move to Newcastle was complete on Monday, with the NSW State of Origin forward signing with the NRL club on a five-year deal after being released by Canterbury. The move was confirmed after Dylan Napa was granted a release

from the final year of his contract with the Sydney Roosters to sign with the Bulldogs on a three-year deal. Klemmer is potentially the final piece of puzzle in Newcastle's resurgence from perennial wooden spooners to genuine contenders, given Tim Glasby and James Gavet have also arrived this year. With him, they'll have one of the best forwards in the game to go with the league's most exciting player in Ponga and a former Origin half in Pearce - both of whom only arrived last year.
