FORMER NRL star Alex McKinnon and wife Teigan are celebrating for more reasons than this week.Just one day before their first wedding anniversary, the couple have welcomed a baby girl into the world on Sunday.The news marks Alex’s biggest milestone post his NRL career which was cut tragically short following a horrific spinal injury in
2014.McKinnon was diagnosed as a quarilplegic following the incident and has been confined to a wheelchair since.The injury hasn’t slowed the 26-year-old down, however, with the ex-Newcastle and St George Illawarra forward working with the Knights for a short stint before going into corporate speaking and being a regular analyst with Fox Sports.

Alex McKinnon is a father for the first time, taking to social media on Monday to reveal wife Teigan has given birth to a baby girl. The McKinnons welcomed baby Harriet Anne on Monday, posting a number of beautiful pics on social media. McKinnon’s promising rugby league career was cut short when he suffered a devastating spinal cord injury playing for the Newcastle Knights in 2014.

He was diagnosed a quadriplegic and proposed to Teigan from his hospital bed just days after the devastating accident. The wonderful baby news comes on the couple’s first wedding anniversary. They recently opened up about the incredible moment Alex stood from his wheelchair at their wedding.
