Cowboys re-sign Hess for three more years

North Queensland back-rower Coen Hess has boldly declared he wants to join Matt Scott and Paul Bowman as Cowboys greats after re-signing with the NRL club for another three years. Hess, 22, has already turned heads
after emerging from the Cowboys Elite Pathways Program to play five games for Queensland and 59 NRL matches since making his senior grade debut as a 19-year-old in 2015. Hess hoped he would be a one-club player and mentioned in the same breath as his idols Scott and Bowman after re-signing with the Cowboys until 2022.

Kane Linnett scored 53 tries in 164 appearances for North Queensland Cowboys

The 29-year-old helped the Cowboys to victory over the Brisbane Broncos in the 2015 NRL Grand Final.He left the club at the end of the 2018 season after seven seasons and 164 games in North Queensland."I always wanted to finish my career in the Super League," Linnett told the club's official website."I'm excited to get over there, meet a new bunch of boys, get settled in, work hard and hopefully have a good year."Linnett also helped the

Cowboys set to sign Josh McGuire

Brisbane Broncos forward Josh McGuire is on the verge of joining the North Queensland Cowboys for the 2019 season.McGuire has two-years remaining on his current deal and will require the Broncos to release him if he is to sign for the Cowboys.The Broncos are
reluctant to release McGuire but could use the salary cap space to re-sign youngsters Tevita Pangai Junior, David Fifita, Payne Haas and Joe Ofahengaue.According to The Daily Telegraph, the Cowboys have offered the Kangaroos forward a four to five year deal worth $3.2 million.The Broncos have informed new coach Anthony Seibold about the situation.

Cowboys signing spree continues with four new deals confirmed

THE Cowboys have continued their active push in the player market with confirmation four players have pledged their futures to the North Queensland club. Tom Opacic, Dan Russell and Kurt Baptiste have signed with the club, while Javid Bowen also signed a contract extension. Former Broncos player Opacic joins the club on a two-year deal for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The 24-year-old debuted for the Broncos in 2016 and has notched up 19 NRL games, including 10 for Wayne Bennett’s side last season. Russell also joins the club on a two-year deal, after an impressive season with the Souths Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup. The 22-year-old centre adds depth to the Cowboy’s outside back stocks, after the departure of club stalwarts Antonio Winterstein and Kane Linnett. Journeymen hooker Baptiste has signed a one-year deal for the 2019 season. The 27-year-old has played 70 NRL games for the Broncos, Raiders and Roosters.Javid Bowen has signed a one-year contract extension to stay with the Cowboys.
