Dylan Napa's future uncertain

Bulldogs recruit Dylan Napa faces possible suspension before playing a match for his new club after NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg vowed to take stronger action against players who trash the game's image. Greenberg returned to work on Monday and immediately held a conference call with captains from all 16 clubs, including the Storm's Cameron Smith, Cronulla's Paul Gallen and Roosters premiership-winning skipper Boyd Cordner, and told them: "Stop looking at headoffice. You guys need to take ownership of this situation". Later, in a lengthy interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, an "angry and frustrated" Greenberg said he had been instructed by the ARL Commission to draw a line in the sand on player behaviour. Greenberg foreshadowed life bans for players found guilty of serious offences against women, as well as declaring that inappropriate messages and videos sent on WhatsApp groups would be considered a violation of social media policy – even if it is private.

Dylan Napa takes legal action after second video emerges

Bulldogs recuit Dylan Napa has reportedly made contact with the police after a second lewd video involving him emerged online in as many days. The Daily Telegraph reported on Saturday that a day after a sex tape allegedly depicting Napa was circulated on the internet,
another graphic video of the Maroons prop was released. This time, the video allegedly shows a near naked Napa touching himself while a fully clothed person engaged in some shadow boxing. The Telegraph said the latest breach of his privacy forced Napa to seek legal representation and contact police.

In his first interview as a Bulldog, Napa shrugged off calls to work on his controversial tackling style. “I’ve had a couple of incidents but like I said I’m here to work on my game and hopefully become a leader amongst the group,” he said last month.

Another sponsor dumps Bulldogs, slams club's handling of Mad Monday controversy

The fallout from Canterbury's disastrous Mad Monday celebrations has continued with a second sponsor dropping the NRL club. Shorts sponsor Wicked Sister Desserts on Wednesday said it had terminated its agreement reportedly worth $350,000 over the incident and the Bulldogs' handling of it. In a significant financial blow, it comes four weeks after major sponsor Jaycar ended its 10-year association with the club and pulled its back-of-shirt sponsorship worth $500,000.

"Today we informed the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs that Wicked Sister Desserts will be terminating its sponsorship of the club effective immediately," the company said in a statement. "Wicked Sister Desserts is a family-owned business and we share the same family values as our customers. What has occurred is completely unacceptable. "We do not in any way condone the behaviour and nor do we support the response by the leadership of the club in the way they have handled this matter. "We accept that there will be some who criticise our company for taking this decision but our company and brand stand for certain values and behaviours, and we expect the same levels of decency and respect from those we align ourselves with."
