There is no doubt Cooper Cronk will suit up for Sunday night’s NRL grand final, according to this Roosters legend. As speculation continues to swirl in the hours leading up to the Roosters’ clash with the Storm, former Roosters playmaker Craig Wing has revealed he is sure the former Storm star will be appearing, despite a severe shoulder injury. “I think Cooper Cronk’s sore shoulder is all smoke and mirrors and he is 100 per cent,” Wing told Fox Sports. “It will mean getting some painkilling injections which can work wonders. “It is probably not the best thing for long-term health but …I will guarantee 100 per cent of players would say it is worth it.”
Another former Roosters premiership winner, Luke Phillips, agreed with Wing, telling Triple M Cronk will play as long as they get the pain killers right. “From my experience I think he will play,” Phillips said. “As long as they can kill that pain with the needle. “With mine it took the Doctor about six or seven goes with the needle to find a spot where the pain is. “They were just going in blind and guessing because it is only a small area, so I think if he can find that area he plays.”The former Test halfback has still been included in the Roosters’ trimmed 19-strong squad released on Saturday night.
